    Despite the help the phantom strike zone has given Glavine and Maddux, I have long wished for something/anything to prod the umpires into calling strikes as defined in the rules. Now that it’s here the only problem I’ve got is, why isn’t it in ALL the ballparks? I can deal with park effects like thin air and foul territory size, but this is a little ridiculous.

    I don’t know the answer to that, except maybe expense. I think one of Schilling’s complaints was that when the umps know Questec is looking over their shoulder, they call a much different strike zone that they did a week earlier at a different park. That’s probably true. But his solution to this inconsistency is to go back to his old zone.
