    BFedRec Says:

Can’t BELIEVE how many hours of my formative years Stephen J. Cannell was responsible for… This isn’t ALL of his stuff I watched… but these are ones I know I watched fairly regularly at one point or another.

    * 21 Jump Street
    * The A-Team
    * Baa Baa Black Sheep
    * The Commish
    * The Greatest American Hero
    * Hardcastle and McCormick
    * Hunter
    * Magnum, P.I. (acting)
    * Riptide
    * The Rockford Files
    * Stingray

Just the hours watching A-Team, Magnum, and Rockford really add up.

    Trace Says:

Thanks for picking us against Colorado, Mac. Makes me feel a little better.

  3. 3
    Mac Thomason Says:

I don’t know if you should be happy, I think I’ve picked UGA every week.

  4. 4
    Trace Says:

Ok scratch that. Let’s just say I’ll feel a little better if you guys beat Florida this weekend.

  5. 5
Alex Remington (Another Alex R.) Says:

Is batting Melky 5th the baseball equivalent of playing chess without your queen, or casting Eliza Dushku as the lead in a television show?

  6. 6
    Nathan Says:

    Dushku is very, very pretty.

  7. 7
    DougM66 Says:

And very, very hot in “Dollhouse.”

  8. 8
Alex Remington (Another Alex R.) Says:

She was very hot in Dollhouse, a show I actually liked. But she was one of the weaker links in the show. The strongest links, in my opinion, were Olivia Williams, Enver Gjokaj, Reed Diamond, and my college acquaintance Fran Kranz.

  9. 9
    csg Says:

#5 – its worse than that

  10. 10
    Jeremy Says:

Phillies lineup – no Victorino or Polanco:

    Rollins SS
    Francisco RF
    Utley 2B
    Howard 1B
    Werth CF
    Ibanez LF
    Dobbs 3B
    Ruiz C
    Kendrick P

  11. 11
    Mike N. Says:

Man, Cannell died? He just produced The A-Team movie!

  12. 12
    carl Says:

What are the chances Charlie and Bobby have a gentleman’s agreement for the phillies to take it easy this weekend and let a win or two slide the braves way?

  13. 13
Alex Remington (Another Alex R.) Says:

Continuing our conversation from the last thread about our Northerly Neighbors, here’s a slightly riveting story about Quebec, “The Most Corrupt Province in Canada“!

(It being Canada, the magazine has already apologized for having given offense, writing, “Maclean’s is a great supporter of both the Carnaval and of Quebec tourism. Our coverage of political issues in the province will do nothing to diminish that support.”)

  14. 14
    Johnny Says:

@8 – Critiquing Eliza Dushku for her, uh, acting? OHHHHHkay.

  15. 15
    sdp Says:

I hope Turner is packed for Bobby this weekend. I can’t be there, unfortunately.

  16. 16
    Randy Says:

I loved the Rockford Files! Jim Garner = Great TV Star!

  17. 17
    hpotter Says:

RH Vance Worley will pitch Sat for Phillies. Hamels will pitch Sunday. They are going #1 Doc, #2 Oswalt, #3 Hamels for playoffs.

  18. 18
    John Gaines Says:

I think as of now there are only standing room tickets available for this weekend.

  19. 19
    csg Says:

#15/#18 – yeah, thats true. I heard it was a packed house and only about 50-100 standing room tickets available now

  20. 20
Alex Remington (Another Alex R.) Says:

By the way, for those of you who wondered what was up with Will Carroll, wonder no longer:

I left Baseball Prospectus – and let me be very clear: I left – for a number of reasons, but the most significant is that I have impossibly high standards for my work. I’m wrong a lot. It’s the nature of what I do, but each instance burns me. There was an episode this summer where it was clear the goals of the organization and the goals I had didn’t mesh any more. I can’t say any more about that, but it was the final straw for me and at that point, I began the process of leaving. In the end, I bought myself out of the contract and sold back the equity I had earned in the company. It was a better option for me not to write at all than continue to write there.

  21. 21
    Robert Says:

Werth in centerfield tonight. Boras will be pleased.

I know it probably makes sense with a two game lead with three to play, but I was kind of hoping we’d just keep rolling with the three man rotation right through the playoffs. We’re all-in at this point.

  22. 22
    Adam M Says:

The Phillies “taking it easy” are still way more talented than the Braves “desperately fighting for a playoff spot.”

I know the other options suck, but it still burns me that Melky is in the lineup. Especially with a flyball pitcher in there.

  23. 23
    CourtneyC Says:

Great. Fox Sports has pulled their programming from Dish Network after Dish refused to pay a rate increase. Now I can’t watch the game. Anybody know were I can get it online?

  24. 24
    braves14 Says:

Why is Bobby so fascinated with Melky and hitting him 5th? Ugh.

  25. 25
    Stu Says:

    Well…it is kind of fascinating.

  26. 26
    CourtneyC Says:

Awesome. The radio station I can get the Braves on has high school football instead.

  27. 27
    Bethany Says:

  28. 28
    braves14 Says:

DirecTV is better. I used to have Dish and don’t regret the switch.

  29. 29
    DowneasterJC Says:

Is it just me, or does Moylan have really girly eyelashes?

  30. 30
    asg Says:

Courtney C- send me an email (greerscott50@gmail) and I will give you my password for I live inPhilly and I’m work, so the game is blacked out for me.

  31. 31
    Robert Says:

I hope Turner is packed for Bobby this weekend. I can’t be there, unfortunately.

Yeah I won’t be there either but, for reasons I’m not entirely clear on, I will be attending Joe Torre’s final game as Dodger manager on Sunday.

I have three pretty sweet tickets and will be taking my daughter and her best friend. So it will be me, two five year old girls with no interest in baseball, and a meaningless Dodgers-DBacks game during the hottest week of the year. I expect it to be every bit as miserable as it sounds. Like Beachy tonight, if we make past the fifth inning, it will be a miracle.

The Dad of the other girl, who is from Scotland and knows precious little about the game, wanted to take the girls and finally got tickets for the last game of the year. But – you guessed it – had a last minute business trip come up and now I’m stuck with it. It is Fan Appreciation Day presented by Hyundai so maybe I’ll win a car (if ‘car’ is indeed the proper word for a Hyundai). Although given the current ownership situation I expect the prizes to be pretty lean this year.

  32. 32
    Dan Says:

Is Melky Cabrera going to be batting fifth in the playoffs?

  33. 33
    Adam R Says:

I’m listening to Reds announcers talking about how, if Drew Stubbs were a rookie, he’d win ROY over Heyward this year…

    Can this game start already?

  34. 34
    braves14 Says:

With Hinske hitting a homer and getting a bases loaded walk in his last 2 PA I’m surprised he isn’t getting a start tonight. At least he is a power threat.

  35. 35
    Stu Says:

If Albert Pujols were a rookie, he’d beat Heyward for the award, too, IMO.

Any Milton High alums on this board? VU’s looking to close out its 2011 hoops recruiting class with an athletic shooter named Dai-Jon Parker. I’m trying to remember the last basketball player from Georgia we signed, and it may have been Brendan Plavich back in 2000. Kind of hard to believe.

  36. 36
    Stu Says:

    Love me some Beachy.

  37. 37
    JoeyT Says:

First ever home start. Now. In this. Crazy.

  38. 38
    Brian J. Says:

36- The crazier part is that I think he can really get it done, based on his first two starts.

  39. 39
    kc Says:

    Let’s destroy Kendrick.

  40. 40
    JoeyT Says:

He’s facing almost all of them. Victorino sits, but I don’t think anyone else scary is out. If Beachy can get through this, I’ll be impressed.

  41. 41
    ryan c Says:

has heyward been wearing the protective brace on his thumb while running? i dont remember.

  42. 42
    ryan c Says:

chip: “HIGH FLY BALL…”. ball caught about 220 feet out.

  43. 43
    kc Says:

  44. 44
    JoeyT Says:

Scoring from first! Awesome. Someone ate his Wheaties.

  45. 45
    Brian J. Says:

  46. 46
    Bethany Says:

    Yes yes yes!!

  47. 47
    Weldon Says:

    And now….Melky!!

  48. 48
    ryan c Says:

i h8 chunkydunky. good job, lee!

  49. 49
    kc Says:

Watching Melky’s swing is like watching Frenchy. You see them swinging so hard just to see a routine flyout, ha.

  50. 50
    Mac Thomason Says:

    Melky eats poop.

  51. 51
    Stu Says:

Seriously, why isn’t Conrad hitting 5th?

  52. 52
    Grst Says:

Werth tried to hit that 5,000 feet.

  53. 53
    JoeyT Says:

Scored a single. Yunel would totally have gotten to that.

  54. 54
    JoeyT Says:

Nice. The kid is on fire.

  55. 55
    Smitty Says:

Hey,did you guys hear? Beachy was not drafted? Wow. On a side note, Jerome Bettis is from Detroit.

  56. 56
    kc Says:

    Yunel who?

  57. 57
    DowneasterJC Says:

I think Ibanez is an alien. His head just looks so weird.

  58. 58
    kc Says:

@54 Yeap, that’s right. He came absolutely from no where.

  59. 59
    Stu Says:

Chip doesn’t even know who’s batting. Can he please get fired, already?

  60. 60
    Robert Says:

You crushed that one New Guy.

  61. 61
    JoeyT Says:

    Chipper’s already the hitting coach.

  62. 62
    kc Says:

Chipper would be a great hitting coach.

  63. 63
    kc Says:

    I love watching Melky run.

  64. 64
    Askia Says:

I love watching Bobby shake his head after that play.

  65. 65
    krugerindustrialsmoothing Says:

    OK, I’ll play

I love poking myself in the eye with a sharp stick.

  66. 66
    Bethany Says:

Wow! Not sure we got him… Good job, Joyce! What a play.

  67. 67
    drewdat Says:

    That was just sick.

    Call was right.

  68. 68
    Grst Says:

    That was a helluva play.

  69. 69
    kc Says:

    Lee can play some defense.

  70. 70
    brule™ Says:

So, the braves goes to po if the braves win and the padres lose today?

Nella fantasia esiste un vento caldo,
Io sogno d’anime che sono sempre libere,
    Come le nuvole che volano

I have been being addicted to an angel’s voice.

  71. 71
    Jeremy Says:

    Lee’s defense has been phenomenal.

  72. 72
    krugerindustrialsmoothing Says:

    ugh chip

Hammered to center! I expected Infante to make the play

  73. 73
    Brian J. Says:

69- That’s right. If either happens, the Braves are guaranteed to host a play-in game.

  74. 74
    Robert Says:

That soundtrack for the Pads-Giants preview was an interesting production choice.

  75. 75
    Jeremy Says:

Infante’s OPS on September 1 was 833; it currently sits at 775.

  76. 76
    Shawn Says:

Chip must’ve not ever heard the word “jinx” before. He keeps talking about the playoffs like there a done deal and it’s making me nervous.

  77. 77
    Jeremy Says:

Chip is so awful that I’ve opted for the Phillies feed.

  78. 78
    kc Says:

Chipper teaching Ankiel how not to get striked out.

  79. 79
    Coz Says:

    Chipper for hitting coach…yes.

    And Maddux for pitching coach.

  80. 80
    kc Says:

How can we get rid of Chip?

  81. 81
    Mac Thomason Says:

    Feed him to Melky.

  82. 82
    drewdat Says:

That Georgia lottery commercial was indefensible. Not just a bad idea, but an idea that leaves no beginnings of a clue as to what its aims or inspirations were.

Because goats breathe fire, right? In fairy tales and stuff?

Oh, well at least it’s normal to bring a goat to a bar and grill, right? And goats are emblematic of luck and gambling. No?

Well, here we go. At least there’s that old story about the goat that laid the golden eggs. That must have been it. Wait, goats are live-birthing?

  83. 83
    JoeyT Says:

If you topped him with sour cream and onion, it might work.

  84. 84
    Mac Thomason Says:

That is definitely an out if Yunel is the shortstop.

  85. 85
    Robert Says:

    It’s two outs.

    We miss you Yesco.

  86. 86
    drewdat Says:

Howard would have been out if we were in the shift, right? Or were we?

Too bad about the quicksand in LF and SS. It’s really making Melky and AAG look bad.

  87. 87
    Jeremy Says:

    I loathe AAG.

  88. 88
    JC Says:

How can we get rid of Chip?

Well, Dish Network found a way, but it’s a little extreme. Listening to Don and Jim now. I would listen more often if it was synced with TV. How on earth is Don not on TV? Don and Jim are miles better than Chip and Joe.

  89. 89
    JoeyT Says:

Jim Powell is really, really good. If I get desperate, I pipe my radio through my laptop so I can delay it to sync with TV. You have to do it with broadcast radio, though, because internet radio lags.

  90. 90
    Bethany Says:

    Man, I hate Ruiz.

  91. 91
    FUWren Says:

Someone tell Melky that if you catch the ball in the air the batter is out.

  92. 92
    Grst Says:

    Man, I hate the Phillies.

  93. 93
    brule™ Says:

    No Prado in the lineup???

  94. 94
    Ethan Says:

I like how Joe just credited Melky not laying out as a premeditated “strategic” move.

  95. 95
    Robert Says:

I really don’t like the idea of Beachy going through the order again next inning. Could get ugly.

  96. 96
    JoeyT Says:

That inning could have been a lot worse.

  97. 97
    Mac Thomason Says:

Brule, Prado is out for the season.

  98. 98
    Parish Says:

Three crap hits in that inning. So annoying. Why can’t we get some of those?

  99. 99
    Guillermo Says:

The phillies don’t have any easy outs. No melkys on that team.

.396 OBP for Ruiz. Really? He actually leads the team.

  100. 100
    Mac Thomason Says:

Because the Phillies have a good defense.

  101. 101
    FUWren Says:

Melky sprints backwards to play the ball on a short-hop. He’s one of the worst all-around players I’ve ever seen (and there have been *lots* of bad Braves over the years). How this guy is on a major league roster is just baffling to me.

(There that should be enough poor-mouthing to at least force Melky to get the game winning hit tonight)

  102. 102
    Adam R Says:

It’s more like a waddle than a sprint.

  103. 103
    JoeyT Says:

I’m kind of glad he only struck out with a guy on first. When he’s up, I expect the worst.

  104. 104
    Robert Says:

Well he’s 0 for his last 18 and has a sub 600 OPS this month. Can’t do much worse than that.

  105. 105
    JoeyT Says:

3-1 counts are when magic happens.

  106. 106
    Bethany Says:

Kendrick can’t throw 3 strikes in a row yet we are doing nothing.

  107. 107
    brule™ Says:

When the team really need him, if he can’t be available. He is a good-for-nothing. Though chipper is one of my favorite braves even he is a good-for-nothing. He is not a real hero.

  108. 108
    Mac Thomason Says:

C’mon, Melky, have a heart attack.

  109. 109
    Hate King Says:

I think you gotta pinch hit for Beachy here.

  110. 110
    Mac Thomason Says:

Why, you didn’t hit for Melky last inning.

  111. 111
    Nick Says:

I would like to introduce Melky to a nifty new maneuver. It’s called the “slide”. Quite useful when trying to get to that ball at your feet.

  112. 112
    Jeremy Says:

    Lets play Beachy in LF.

  113. 113
    Hate King Says:

I had to push the glasses up and rub my eyes after that last comment, Mac.

  114. 114
    JoeyT Says:

    Beachy is an OBP machine.

  115. 115
    Brian J. Says:

First major league walk. There’s something.

  116. 116
    Bethany Says:

    Ok, come on Jason.

  117. 117
    Brian J. Says:

That was just weird- having a .325 hitter bunt the pitcher over.

  118. 118
    JoeyT Says:

I don’t think NL minor league affiliates should have the DH. Pitchers need to learn to hit, baserun, etc.

  119. 119
    jdpeace Says:

Chip said all year long Heyward has been clutch, which makes me immediately think he hasn’t been.

  120. 120
    Jeremy Says:

    Damn. Heyward hit that well.

  121. 121
    sdp Says:

  122. 122
    Smitty Says:

    Ibanez played that ball well

  123. 123
    jdpeace Says:

Heyward should have bunted Beachy to third. Obviously.

  124. 124
    JoeyT Says:

Heyward actually has been “clutch.” .930 OPS with RISP, 1.095 OPS with RISP and two outs.

  125. 125
    Jeremy Says:

  126. 126
    Bethany Says:

    I freaking love you Lee!!!

  127. 127
    Guillermo Says:

  128. 128
    Grst Says:

    And then there’s Melky.

  129. 129
    Bethany Says:

    Die Melky.

  130. 130
    Smitty Says:

    I hate Melky

  131. 131
    Mac Thomason Says:

Of all the Melky at-bats this year, that was maybe the Melkiest.

  132. 132
    Jeremy Says:

    Wow, Melky.

  133. 133
    Smitty Says:

    Where is Eric Hinske?

  134. 134
    Guillermo Says:

    1st pitch pop up. jajajaja

    He really SUCKS!

  135. 135
    ryan c Says:

this is past bobby being stubborn. now, he’s just being an idiot. MELKY IS HORRIBLE, BOBBY! WHY WOULD YOU BAT SOMEONE HORRIBLE 5TH?

  136. 136
    Mac Thomason Says:

From @braveshaiku: Sometimes I feel fat / Then I watch Melky play left / And I feel less fat

  137. 137
    jdpeace Says:

@123 I know. I just thought it had become a perverse universe now that I just assume anything Chip says is wrong.

  138. 138
    Jeremy Says:

Why on earth would you hit Melky fifth?

  139. 139
    JoeyT Says:

    Mystery Date
    Mystery Date

Will it be a Lee? GASP
    Or a Melky….sigh.

Open the door for your Mystery Date.

  140. 140
    Tomas Says:

    Goddamn, Melky.

  141. 141
    Mac Thomason Says:

Melky really does make Ryan Howard look svelte.

  142. 142
    Smitty Says:

All those Philly hits were at Melky.

  143. 143
    ryan c Says:

bobby needs to practice tough love on melky.

  144. 144
    Mac Thomason Says:

I think we should name Mike Leach a coach and have him lock Melky in the shed.

  145. 145
    JoeyT Says:

That trivia question’s good. My first guess is Moises Alou.

  146. 146
    CourtneyC Says:

who would you rather have at the plate in a clutch situation? Frenchy or Melkey?

  147. 147
    jdpeace Says:

    I miss Andruw.

  148. 148
    Smitty Says:

Joey, good guess, I am going Bonds

  149. 149
    Smitty Says:

    Good job Beach

  150. 150
    Smitty Says:

    Infante didn’t cover

  151. 151
    Jeremy Says:

  152. 152
    jdpeace Says:

    So defense is important, huh.

  153. 153
    James Says:

Why wouldn’t you just go to first LIKE A NORMAL PERSON

  154. 154
    Brian J. Says:

Beachy’s struck out 15 in 15 innings. Just so you know. Really, I’d be in favor of carrying him as a long man on the NLDS roster. Especially if it’s him versus Melky.

  155. 155
    JoeyT Says:

    Conrad gets the error? Sigh.

  156. 156
    krugerindustrialsmoothing Says:

with the catcher running you go to 2?!??!

  157. 157
    JoeyT Says:

This situation feels familiar. Throw it 3 inches outside and see if he calls it strike three.

  158. 158
    jdpeace Says:

Beachy’s not eligible for post-season, is he?

  159. 159
    James Says:

I have no problem with that error going to Conrad. Conrad needs to have the arm strength to throw to first base with a catcher running.

  160. 160
    JoeyT Says:

@157, he can be, thanks to Medlen and Chipper.

  161. 161
    Bethany Says:

    Freaking fat ass.

  162. 162
    Catz Says:

  163. 163
    RobBroad4th Says:

    Terrible. Ugh.

  164. 164
    Askia Says:

That 3-2 pitch was not close.

  165. 165
    redclay Says:

they took beachy out for this.

  166. 166
    Smitty Says:

    Infante should get the error

  167. 167
    Jeremy Says:

Moylan should have been out of the inning but you only exacerbate the problem by letting him face a LHB.

    James Says:

He might be because of Medlen being on the 60 day DL, but I think we have to use that spot on Kimbrel who wasn’t on the 25 man on August 31st.

  169. 169
    OneEye Says:

    Let me get this straight:

A ball to center that should have been caught
    intentional walk
error on easy grounder with catcher running

  170. 170
    JoeyT Says:

We have multiple guys. Medlen, Chipper, Prado. The positional constraint is only within a playoff series, not for subbing people on the postseason roster.

  171. 171
    James Says:

  172. 172
    JoeyT Says:

    Wow. Go Giants?

  173. 173
    Jeremy Says:

    Gotta be shtting me.

  174. 174
    RobBroad4th Says:

    Fuck this.

  175. 175
    Smitty Says:

    Go Giants

  176. 176
    James Says:

Why was mike dunn even pitching?

  177. 177
    OneEye Says:

    L – Beachy

  178. 178
    sdp Says:

    Mother FUCK!

  179. 179
    Bethany Says:

I am going to go cry.

  180. 180
    brule™ Says:

I hate phillies. And really tired and sleepy to die now.

  181. 181
    CourtneyC Says:

    Lets go Giants!

  182. 182
    Jeremy Says:

Melky Cabrera betting not be in the fucking lineup tomorrow.

  183. 183
    ryan c Says:

resilient. remember, guys? except for melky, of course.

  184. 184
    Smitty Says:

Can’t give the Phillies 5 outs

  185. 185
    JoeyT Says:

Even with this loss we’re in good shape. Out of 32 possibilities from the three NL West games and the two Braves games:

In 26 situations, Braves win the wild card.
In 3 situations, Braves tie just the Pads.
In two situations, Braves tie the Pads and Giants.

Only one out of 32 situations remaining if the team loses this game results in the Braves’ outright elimination.

  186. 186
    ryan c Says:

geez, alex looks stupid bad right now.

  187. 187
    Mac Thomason Says:

Okay, I’m there. Might as well play Diory.

  188. 188
    RobBroad4th Says:

I don’t think I could stomach a sweep from the Phillies second string.

  189. 189
    Factory Jones Says:

This sucks. Chip and Joe are clueless. No insight. I wish I could put this comment section on my tv and mute these two homers.

  190. 190
    FUWren Says:

This is not even close to a playoff caliber team. It will be some weird type of karmic justice when we back in after getting swept but the Pads losing 2 of 3, then proceed to win the World Series via a streak of completely improbable luck.

  191. 191
    DowneasterJC Says:

You know you’re bad when Chip says something about you that is actually true and not just stupid.

  192. 192
    csg Says:

anyone else have Dish Network? What the hell is this with them not carrying Fox channels due to Fox’s price increases? its complete BS

  193. 193
    JoeyT Says:

Put Kawakami in so the relievers Bobby likes to use are all (except Moylan) completely rested.

  194. 194
    JoeyT Says:

Farnsworth is fine, too. Burn him up.

  195. 195
    Nick Says:

If it makes anybody feel better, this was probably our least favorable matchup of the three, assuming the Hamels start is largely a bullpen game.

  196. 196
    JoeyT Says:

MLB network has a thing in the corner saying “NYY/BOS rain delay.” Would they skip Giants/Pads for the Yankersox?

I mean, I can always watch it on the MLB.TV, but the cable channel tends to not stutter at inopportune moments. Plus, it would just suck to exist in a world where that would happen.

  197. 197
    ububba Says:

    Greetings from Las Vegas…

I love the sports book, but watching that Rollins GSHR sucked.

    Go Giants

  198. 198
    Jeremy Says:

    Beachy pitched his ass off.

Basically it’s going to take a miracle for us to win on a day when Agony, Melky and McLoser are all in the lineup.

  199. 199
    Factory Jones Says:

My MLB network says Braves/phils but is showing TB/KC because I live in atl. Next game shows giants/pads.

  200. 200
    Jeremy Says:

    Lisp up in the ‘pen.

  201. 201
    Factory Jones Says:

Fuck that back stabbing AT&T Q/A BS! WTF?

  202. 202
    hpotter Says:

I think Hamels AND Oswalt are both pitching a few innings Sunday. So it has to happen tomorrow or we’re effd

  203. 203
    ryan c Says:

can the bottom of the 8th be anymore discouraging?

  204. 204
    Parish Says:

Chip thinks the appearance of the Lisp might get the crowd fired up.

  205. 205
    JoeyT Says:

MLB Network is showing Dbacks/Dodgers. What?

  206. 206
    csg Says:

hopefully Matt Cain can help us out a bit tonight

  207. 207
    JoeyT Says:

He looks good so far. His slider looks like it’s breaking pretty sharply.

  208. 208
    Parish Says:

I really wish these guys would stop talking about Braves’ fans wishing the Phils would call off the dogs. We don’t. We want our guys to play freaking baseball. Cover 2nd. Catch a ball hit right at you. Look like you want to go to the post season.

  209. 209
    Adam R Says:

    Pads got Snitkered.

  210. 210
    JoeyT Says:

That play at the plate was nice. Padres pushed too hard, and the Giants didn’t mess it up.

  211. 211
    Brian J. Says:

    San Diego has a Snitker!

  212. 212
    ryan c Says:

    oh dear lord.

  213. 213
    sdp Says:

    Son of a BITCH.

  214. 214
    ryan c Says:

let it go down that mike minor should have gotten out of that inning unscathed. brooks conrad sure is showing tonight why he’s a bench player and not a regular starter.

  215. 215
    Parish Says:

Beachy was the best pitcher on the mound for us tonight.

  216. 216
    Nick Says:

Also, the more runs they score, the easier this game becomes to forget. Let’s hope the Giants win and just move on to tomorrow.

  217. 217
    Mac Thomason Says:

Bruce Chen just shut out the Rays.

  218. 218
    Nick Says:

I assume MLB Network is gonna switch to the Padres-Giants game once our game is over?

  219. 219
    JoeyT Says:

2 on, 1 out, Posey up. Looking good for our dear friends the Giants.

  220. 220
    sdp Says:

So they FINALLY let Boscan get some action.

  221. 221
    Parish Says:

    J.C. Boscan in the game.

  222. 222
    drewdat Says:

Glad they got Boscan in. Seems like there have been some disasters that he should have gotten into before, and he was running out of time.

  223. 223
    JoeyT Says:

    1-0 Pads. Crap.

  224. 224
    Parish Says:

    Boscan 0-for-0, BB, R.

    Might be his career line.

  225. 225
    ryan c Says:

fitting. melky will get to make the last out. it’s hard to blame cox on a night when the braves lose 11-5, but putting melky in the lineup at 5th is like playing russian roulette with 6 bullets.

  226. 226
    OneEye Says:

    4-0 Pads – Gonzo withe a 3 run bomb

  227. 227
    ryan c Says:

    pads up 4-0

  228. 228
    Bethany Says:

This game exemplifies losing as a team. Everyone has to contribute.

  229. 229
    Mac Thomason Says:

Except Derrek Lee. I think it exemplifies how one guy having a great night can’t make up for everyone else sucking.

  230. 230
    Bethany Says:

Very true, Mac. It’s a shame that he’s finally coming around but the rest of the team is just done.

God, it needs to be tomorrow, and we need to freaking win.

  231. 231
    Mac Thomason Says:
