I don’t really have anything here.

    Boomer Says:

I’m not sure I will ever be a true Tommy Hanson fan. His lack of consistency has always bothered me, and I’ve still yet to be convinced he will be our staff ace. Luckily, he still has time to pull that together, and I want him to. When he stops leading the league in HBP, I’ll be happier too.

Cyborg Tommy Hanson, however, will always have a special place in my heart.

  2. 2
    spike Says:

I don’t mind the HBP – I wish he had a little more command of who and when, but HBP for a good pitcher are not necessarily a bad thing.

  3. 3
    DowneasterJC Says:

    Hanson for Pujols straight up.

(A Rasmus would be fine too).

  4. 4
    Kyle B. Says:

Costello and the Imposters this early in the season? I don’t mind that at all.

  5. 5
    MikeM Says:

Forgive me if this has been mentioned before, but did everyone else know that Dan Uggla’s middle name was Cooley? That made me happy.

  6. 6
    TomL Says:

Why is Jurrjen’s scheduled to get off the DL April 16th when it was retroactive to March 25th? That’s a lot longer than 15 days what am I missing?

  7. 7
    sdp Says:

    Teheran starting season at AAA.

  8. 8
    Parish Says:

Interesting that the Braves would suddenly become aggressive with Teheran, as conservative as they have been with his promotion.

  9. 9
    csg Says:

There’s no reason for Teheran not to start the year in AAA. If the Braves still view him as an option for June or later than he needs to be in Gwinnett

    Mac Thomason Says:

Braves signed Proctologist to a AAA contract.

  12. 12
    Jeff K Says:

    Go Huddy!

  13. 13
    csg Says:

    #11 – ridiculous

  14. 14
    Stephen in the UAE Says:

    #11–Old habits die hard….

  15. 15
    RJ in KS Says:

These announcers for the Nationals really suck.

  16. 16
    Bethany Says:

McCann looks like a completely different person after losing all that weight.

  17. 17
    Stu Says:

    Tim Hudson, ladies and gentlemen.

  18. 18
    PaulV Says:

@6 That must be day he will pitch. Better to have someone else active until that day.

  19. 19
    Bethany Says:

    Dammit.

  20. 20
    Stu Says:

Our starters sure are throwing a ton of pitches per inning.

  21. 21
    csg Says:

    yes they are

  22. 22
    MikeM Says:

Yeah, who is this color guy for the Nats booth? Some ex-player with a skater boy voice?

  23. 23
    Toml Says:

None other then FP santangelo. Catchphrase: “good old fashioned country fastball”

  24. 24
    spike Says:

Bethany, the radio link is giving me really weird gospel music – are you getting the game?

  25. 25
    Bethany Says:

The link didn’t work for me yesterday either :-/

  26. 26
    Adam M Says:

I was promised offense this season.

Not to be impatient or anything.

  27. 27
    Stu Says:

26—At least Zimmermann is good. Getting shut down by Hernandez and Lannan has been maddening, though.

  28. 28
    Tomas Says:

    http://65.60.11.2:8012/

works for me, click “listen” at the top and open the playlist in something like vlc player.

Edit: Or just open the address in media player.

  29. 29
    MikeM Says:

Ahh FP Santangelo. He of admitting to PED use. I did notice “Good ol’ country fastball” used by him like 10,000 times yesterday.

As a snarky fan I think I am sometimes too hard on announcers, as I’m sure I would be pretty bad at filling all that air time. But like any profession, I suppose there are good ones (Boog) and not so good ones (FP, Chip).

  30. 30
    spike Says:

Awesome! Might want to delete that in a sec – believe it or not their are bots that look for that sort of thing.

  31. 31
    spike Says:

Junky runs, but we will take them.

  32. 32
    Brian J. Says:

We were promised offense, and we get Nate (Mc)Louth. (When does he lose the Mc again, Mac?)

  33. 33
    Adam M Says:

McLouth is just a giant pile of suck.

  34. 34
    Timo Says:

I really don’t like McLouth very much.

  35. 35
    Timo Says:

    Hudson is dealing now.

  36. 36
    mraver Says:

The most disturbing thing from McLouth this series has been how many swings-and-misses he’s had. He looks just like last year. He’s generally done a good job of working counts, but he just swings and misses (on strikes!) SO MUCH.

  37. 37
    MikeM Says:

    Cooley!

  38. 38
    Nick H Says:

@36 – McLouth still looks like he’s guessing; he isn’t swinging with authority at strikes, and even when he does swing at a strike, Nate’s not making good contact. He had a sac fly opportunity in the 5th and would have succeeded, had he managed to hit the ball more than 200 feet.

  39. 39
    Grst Says:

At the game. Great catch by uggla

  40. 40
    John Gaines Says:

    @32

I don’t remember him ever earning it back..

  41. 41
    sdp Says:

Todd Coffey and Mark Bowman at a Golden Corral.

  42. 42
    Timo Says:

Walking McLouth… Gotta make ‘em pay for that!

  43. 43
    JoeyT Says:

Walk McLouth to get to Chipper. Brilliant!

  44. 44
    JoeyT Says:

Walk Chipper to get to McCann. Brilliant!

  45. 45
    Adam M Says:

    Shift kills them. Nice!

  46. 46
    JoeyT Says:

Haha. Two runs. Thanks for the walks.

  47. 47
    Tomas Says:

Love it when BMac hits against the shift like that.

  48. 48
    joelk Says:

    Wow, Timmy is dealing today!!

  49. 49
    Timo Says:

Huddy has retired 17 in a row. Beauty!

  50. 50
    Brian J. Says:

And Heyward gets his OPS over 1.000 with his second hit of the season.

  51. 51
    Adam M Says:

    WTF?

  52. 52
    Bethany Says:

Now Heyward has his first glass heel moment of the year.

  53. 53
    James Says:

I was wondering how the umps were going to justify calling Heyward out. Happy to see they changed it to the right call.

  54. 54
    Timo Says:

    Really impressed by Freddies patience

  55. 55
    Adam M Says:

Can’t really complain with the bottom of the order this series.

  56. 56
    Bob Ventimiglia Says:

hey, back representing NJ here, hope to post a little more here this season

  57. 57
    sdp Says:

    lol

  58. 58
    Guillermo Says:

    Me too.

Great looking inside out swing, good patience.

  59. 59
    TomL Says:

Who is warming up? Please not Kimbrel, Venters, Moylan, or EOF

  60. 60
    Brian J. Says:

And McLouth finally delivers… now that we’re already up by six runs.

  61. 61
    Adam M Says:

well, he’s proven in the past that he can hit AAA pitchers. We already knew he could. Let’s see him hit a starter now.

  62. 62
    Tomas Says:

Venters and EOF were warming up, EOF sat down again (according to the radio guys). Not sure if the Lisp or anyone is loosening up now.

  63. 63
    Timo Says:

    @26. There you go, Adam.

  64. 64
    sdp Says:

Ugh. Why the hell is Venters pitching?

  65. 65
    IthacaBraves Says:

Venters pitching with an 11-1? You can count on me as an official Fredi Gonzalez detractor.

  66. 66
    Tomas Says:

I’m guessing he was already fully warmed up and all that.

  67. 67
    IthacaBraves Says:

Especially With a four game series against a decent offensive club starting tomorrow, this is a premium Sherrill, Lisp or Linebrink scenario.

  68. 68
    TomL Says:

Probably one of those “well he’s warmed up may as well use him” type things. I’ll never understand that theory.

  69. 69
    IthacaBraves Says:

Why is he even fully warmed up? It hasn’t been a save situation in hours!

  70. 70
    Seat Painter Says:

Maybe Fredi thinks that going from Thursday until Monday is a good way for Venters to lose his edge? Otherwise, I got nothing.

  71. 71
    IthacaBraves Says:

There’s no way to slice this where it doesn’t look like terrible management to me.

  72. 72
    Rob Cope Says:

11-2 win. Nothing to be positive about there!

Seriously, I’ll take as many of these games as they’re willing to give, off of relievers or starters. It’s a long season guys.

  73. 73
    Adam M Says:

63 – Yep. Feels good, feels right.

  74. 74
    Mac Thomason Says:

    Recapped.
